The Monster and the Man

Once upon a time, a man fell in love with a monster.

It was the beginning of his end.

For every piece of love he gave to her she poured into him her hate.

Until one day he forgot to love at all.

A sunken broken thing he was, a shadow of the man he had once been.

Yet he stayed with the monster, for she still looked so lovely to him.

Until one day her face had lost it’s beauty and her hair had lost it’s shine.

He saw her for the monster that she truly was, a devil’s soul with evil eyes.

Still they remained together, laying side by side.

For he was now a monster too and deserved his monstrous bride.

And they lived unhappily ever after.
